LG Electronics has officially released the Optimus Z Android smartphone in the South Korean market via SK Telecom and KT. The phone features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 1,350mAh battery, a 3.5-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) “Hyper” HD LCD, T-DMB mobile TV support, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, Dolby Mobile and DivX compatibility. LG has promised an upgrade to the Android 2.2 Froyo system before the end of the year. It comes pre-loaded with over 100 applications, 70 of which are not available from the Android Market.
